yarn along

Joining in with Ginny for the yarn along today, I sort of finished Faith's jumper. I finished it with short sleeves and I thought that would be fine for the summer and I'll finish off the detachable long sleeves ready for when the winter gets colder.

I managed this first photo in the brief sunshine but then the rain had started again by the time I finished, so my apologies for the dark photos.

Faith really likes it and says it is really warm. I made it in an age 8 size so hopefully we will get a couple of winters out of it. Ravelry notes here.

This is one mitten I have done to go with Roghans hat. More on this when it's all done.

Happy yarn along x

  1. I love that sweater! Awesome job! And I love the colorway knitting, I haven't tried it myself, because it looks so difficult!

  2. What a wonderful sweater - I've never heard of detachable sleeves before. Genius idea!
    Your cable work is lovely.

  3. I agree with Hannah - detachable sleeves? Very neat. I suppose if we can zip off pants to make them shorts, then one can unbutton? the sleeve of a sweater. How do the sleeves detach?

    1. Poppers or snap fastners are used in the pattern but if i'd thought of it I could have put buttonholes in the short sleeve cuffs, I think that would have been lovely detail, although maybe not quick enough for an overheating 7 year old to pull off.

  11. Detachable sleeves that is such a good idea, makes it last longer I would think if it can be worn most of the year (we are still wearing jumpers in summer!)
